How we measure your sperm
The ExSeed Home Sperm Test measures the total motile sperm count (TMSC).
TMSC is the total amount of sperm cells moving forward per ejaculate. This number is one of the best predictors of fertility because it measures the number of sperm cells that could possibly reach the egg after intercourse.
The number is made up of three measurements: volume, concentration, and motility.

Semen volume is the total quantity of fluid ejaculated. A normal volume is more than 1.5ml. Below that is called Hypospermia and can, for example, be caused by hormonal abnormalities or ductal blockage.
Sperm motility is the forward motion of sperm cells. For a sperm to fertilize the egg, it must travel quickly through the female reproductive system, which requires a strong forward swimming motion. Our algorithm tracks forward motility, which is also referred to as progressive motility. Normal motility is above 32% of the sperm cells moving, below that is called asthenozoospermia.

Concentration
Sperm concentration is a measurement of how many sperm cells there are in each milliliter of semen. A normal concentration is above 15 million sperm cells per milliliter. Being below 15 million sperm cells per milliliter is referred to as oligospermia, and it is called azoospermia if there are no sperm cells at all.

What customers say about us
Very impressed... Really simple to use.
My wife saw an ad online about testing sperm health - I didn't know it was really a thing. I ordered a few other tests which were sachets and dipping sticks but they weren't very clear to understand so I thought I'd buy this as it worked with my Android phone and is cheaper than other ones.
I managed to do the whole test in 10 minutes and my wife and I were really happy with the results and how easy it is to use. It's definitely helped put my mind at ease.

Excellent device, cool to see the swimmers live
me and my partner found this test and the device really cool. he had vasectomy reversal and we were testing the success of the reversal surgery with two tests, taken one week apart to check for improvement. the test showed dead, live and immature sperm, totally cool under microscope. would highly recommend this to anyone. also great if you are a woman trying to conceive with a known donor who is not sperm tested, this kit will save you money of £150 for a semen analysis at a clinic!

A great device to monitor sperm quality.
We wanted something with high accuracy and had seen this on the news. My boyfriend uses it to monitor his sperm quality, more specifically motility and used their lifestyle programme as well as vitamins they sell to improve his motility from 7% to 35% over 3 month. The customer service is great and they even responded to us during normal working hours.

To test your semen, your doctor will ask you to provide a semen sample. Normally, you ejaculate into a collection cup in a room at your doctor’s office. The sample is then assessed under a microscope, which will give useful information about the specific functions of your sperm cells (i.e. the likelihood of a sample resulting in a pregnant partner). Normal sperm tests track the volume (amount of semen), concentration (how many sperm cells you have per milliliter of semen), motility (the amount of moving sperm cells), and total motile sperm count (the total amount of moving sperm cells in one ejaculate). Some sperm tests additionally assess features like morphology (the appearance of sperm cells), pH, color, the presence of other cell types, and liquefaction time.
The ExSeed Home Sperm Test provides you with volume, concentration, motility, and total motile sperm count, similar to what many clinics assess. This is because the total motile sperm count is the one number that has been most highly associated with the chance of pregnancy (1).
The most common diagnoses for a semen analysis include:
- Hypospermia: low volume
- Oligospermia: a low amount of sperm cells
- Zoospermia: no sperm at all
- Asthenozoospermia: a large number of sperm cells that do not move
- Teratozoospermia: a large number of abnormal sperm cells)
- Leukospermia: a large number of round cells/white blood cells)
- Necrospermia: a large number of dead sperm cells 1) https://doi.org/10.1093/humrep/dev058
A 2-test kit is perfect if you only want a snapshot of your sperm health. We follow the WHO guidelines and recommend a minimum of two tests to prevent any irregularity in the results.
A 5-test kit will not only allow you to see your current sperm health, but it will be able to show the improvements as you implement the recommended changes from our app over a few months. The 5-test kit is cheaper per test than the 2-test kit and comes with a free fertility cookbook.
A 10-test kit will allow you to track your sperm health changes over a year. It’s also the best value per test and comes with a free fertility cookbook and a free fertility guide.
ExSeed is currently the only at-home sperm test assessing the total motile sperm count. This count is important because some other at-home sperm tests will fail to inform about common causes of male infertility.
You can easily share your results with your doctor, making it possible to get a second opinion on your results.
The ExSeed Home Sperm test uses microscopy, which is used in the clinic as the golden standard. This also means that you will get a recording of your sperm.
Our customer support is available to help if you experience any issues while testing or if you are in doubt the test was performed correctly.
The ExSeed Home Sperm test tracks the same parameters that you would get in most clinics. These include volume (amount of semen), concentration (how many sperm cells you have per milliliter of semen), motility (the amount of moving sperm cells), and total motile sperm count (the total amount of moving sperm cells in one ejaculate). This is because the total motile sperm count is the one number most highly associated with the chance of pregnancy (1). 1) https://doi.org/10.1093/humrep/dev058
