Can you increase the strength of your swimmers?
Is it possible to increase the strength of your sperm? We have designed the Semen Quality Score system for you to get an idea about your chances of reaching pregnancy. It informs you about how the chances are, on average, for you and your partner to get pregnant every menstrual cycle.
Semen quality is indicative of a male’s ability to reproduce (fecundity). This is shown for example in a Danish study with 430 “first pregnancy planning couples” where they investigated how sperm quality affects the chances of pregnancy. Here it was found that the probability of conception increased with sperm concentration (40×10 6/mL), but any higher sperm density was not associated with an additional likelihood of pregnancy. In another study where they used computer-assisted sperm analysis, the amount of motile sperm was found to be associated with the cumulative probability of pregnancy – see figure 1 .

After carrying out scientific research and speaking to numerous fertility specialists, we believe that the best way to currently assess a man’s fertility potential is knowing his Total Motile Sperm Count (TMSC). We focus mainly on what the device can measure and how it relates to “time to pregnancy”. In our test, we evaluate your Semen Volume, Sperm Concentration, and Sperm Motility.
By knowing these parameters, we calculate the TMSC and we categorize it in low/moderate/optimal as you can see below:
The TMSC informs of how big your chance of pregnancy is per cycle. This is defined like this:
A prerequisite for the above percentages of pregnancy is that you and your partner have intercourse on the days when she has her ovulation (fertile window) and that your partner has a regular menstruation cycle. If this is not the case, your partner should consult a medical doctor for examination and obtain regular menstruation while you improve or maintain your semen quality. If you or your partner has any medical issues, we suggest seeking a medical doctor prior to “project baby-making” since it could reduce your chances of pregnancy.
For a sperm cell to properly reach the female egg and fertilize it, it needs more functions than what we measure. Go to “The Journey of Sperm” to read more about the specific functions.
